      In the wake of latest developments due to corona virus spread and consequent suspension of flights to Pakistan, the PIA has appointed the following Focal Person in Toronto to facilitate the return of stranded Pakistanis to Pakistan on the resumption of flights:

    • Subject:      Corona Virus (COVID-19) Advisory

      The Government of British Columbia has imposed a public health emergency in the province in the wake of drastic increase in Coronavirus cases.

      In view of the critical and rapidly changing situation, this office would not accept any walk-in applications with effect from 9am, 18th March 2020 except cases of emergent nature.

      The Government of British Columbia has so far confirmed 103 cases of Corona Virus and has asked British Columbians to avoid travelling out of the country. The Government has also advised against holding large gatherings.

      In view of the critical and rapidly changing situation, we would advise all visitors to avoid coming to the Consulate physically till further notice and encourage applying through our online services. Details are given below:

    • Pakistan climbed 28 places in Global Ease of Doing Business:

      The World Bank in its Annual Report on ‘Ease of Doing Business 2020 on 24 October 2019 has highlighted the significant improvements Pakistan has made in Ease of Doing business. It states that that Pakistan has made six reforms in the last one year hat have improved its ranking to 108 from 136 among the 190 nations. The World Bank’s report testifies to the success of Pakistan’s ​Government in undertaking reforms to improve the business opportunities in the ​country.     • Launching of E-Visa on arrival for businessmen and tourists from Canada

      The Government of Pakistan has introduced Visa on Arrival (VoA) for 50 countries and E-Visa for 175 countries (including Canada), which would be augmented with Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). Details are available at https://visa.nadra.gov.pk

    • Appeal For Donations For 'Supreme Court Of Pakistan-Prime Minister Diamer Bhasha-Mohmand Dams' Funds 2018

      (2018-09-25) On the instructions of the Government of Pakistan, the High Commission for Pakistan, Ottawa, has opened a special bank account to collect donations/contributions for the construction of Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dams in Pakistan. As announced by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, all the Pakistani community members including Canadians of Pakistani origin and Pakistani nationals on permanent residence in Canada are cordially requested to donate generously for this noble cause.     • Machine Readable Passport (MRP), update for October 19 2016 

      Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) has set up an online service for Pakistani citizens around the world to apply for renewal of Machine Readable Passport online. Please visit this page to apply and for all the required information : http://onlinemrp.dgip.gov.pk/ 

      Those who require assistance may contact DGIP directly.Categories for new, amendment and lost MRP applications must be submitted to the Consulate General of Pakistan in person.

      The Consulate General of Pakistan in Vancouver is still accepting MRP applications for those who are appearing in person. You may apply in person under the renewal category as well as new, amendment or lost.

      NADRA has launched web based application system for processing of NICOP/POC applications in order to facilitate Pakistani expatriates.

      As a consequence, this Consulate has stopped processing of manual NICOP/ POC as of September 2015. In view of the above, the Consulate would be constrained to provide any assistance with regard to NICOP/POC. The applicant may directly visit the website of NADRA: id.nadra.gov.pk/
    • General Guidelines, December 3 2015

      Due to numerous telephone inquiries, at times it becomes difficult to respond to all queries on telephone. The applicants are, therefore, advised to go through the website of the Consulate to find answers to their queries which have mostly been addressed there. In case any further clarification about the status of application is required, the applicants may preferable communicate through email  which would be immediately responded to.
