After the success of State Bank of Pakistan’s Roshan Digital Account initiative, SBP is considering issuance of a framework to facilitate legal entities incorporated/ registered outside Pakistan for remotely opening bank accounts in Pakistan through digital means. The scope of this framework covers all such entities that are majority owned and controlled by non-resident Pakistanis and non-residence POC holders.
While maximum effort has been made to keep the account opening process as simple as possible, without compromising on AML related controls and obligations, before finalizing the Framework, State Bank of Pakistan is planning on obtaining feedback from external stakeholders / probable accounts holders.
In this regard, Pakistani diaspora who have an incorporated business and are interested in reviewing the Framework and providing their input to State Bank of Pakistan, are requested to share their contact detail with Consulate General of Pakistan, Vancouver at the following email address for onward submission of their names/contact details to State Bank of Pakistan.
